HEART SAVER / AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR (AED) COURSE

A 4-hour course designed for medical and non-medical people, who want to learn or improve knowledge in the operation of the AED. This course incorporates adult CPR with the use of the AED through group practice scenarios. Previous CPR experience is not required. This course satisfies the requirements of Texas House Bill 580. Cost is $40.00 per student. Class scheduled by request only.

HEART SAVER / FIRST AID COURSE

An 8-hour course designed for anyone wanting to learn First Aid, Adult, Child or Infant CPR and AED operations on Adults and children.  This Heartsaver First Aid Course consists of 6 sections.  Three of these sections are required and 3 are elective, although 2 sections are highly recommended.  There are two version of this class:  Heartsaver First Aid with CPR /AED comprises all 6 sections of the course; Heartsaver First Aid comprises the 3 required sections plus Environmental Emergencies.   Also, one or all version of CPR / AED operations.  Cost is $60.00 per student.  Class Schedule by request only and no less than 10 students.

  7. AHA Chair of Survival
  8. Assessing the victim
  9. Post emergency actions

 The Medical Emergencies focuses on

  1. Breathing problems

    2. Bad allergic reactions
  2. Chest pains and heart attack
  3. Fainting
  4. Diabetes
  5. Stroke
  6. Seizures

 The Injury Emergencies

  1. Bleeding
  2. Head and possible spinal injury
  3. Injury to bones, joints, and muscles
  4. Burns caused by

    2. Electricity

 The CPR / AED section

  1. To tailor the course to the needs of participants, it is acceptable for the instructors to change the course by substituting or adding other AHA courses for the CPR / AED needs.

Cost is $25.00 per student. The cost includes textbook and course participation card.  Student Must Specify which Course: Adult, Child, or Infant CPR
